Ordering Books and Materials

By visiting our Main Library or any of our four Branch Libraries...

The fastest way to order and pick up books is visiting our main Library or any of our four branch libraries. You must pick up your books during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and call 24 hours in advance so that we can have your selections ready for you. You are also welcome to browse our shelves or have our staff assist you with your selection. Click here to find the Regional Branch Library nearest you.

By phone...

You may order books by phone during regular library hours by calling 1-800-808-2555 and they will be mailed to you free of charge. Our Reader Advisors are always willing to help you select titles of interest to you. If you don't know the number of a book, just give your Reader Advisor the title and author and what format you prefer.

By e-mail...

You also may order books, magazines and playback machines through e-mail. To order send an e-mail to: readers@braillelibrary.org. Messages are checked daily and requests filled within two days. As with a phone order, all materials are sent free of charge. Please include your name, address and phone number.

Through the NLS...

As a Library patron, you are eligible to order books through the NLS Online Catalog. If our Library doesn't have the book you're interested in, your Reader Advisor will search the NLS catalog to fill your request. To view the NLS catalog please click here.
Note: Orders through the NLS can take longer than a standard order and should only be placed through your reader advisor.
